Diego Riedemann Bio

Diego Riedemann was born in Santiago de Chile, 1981.

Currently based in München, since 2015 up to date, he has been performing in remarkable jazz festivals and venues in Europe: 38 Cave du Riv' (Paris); Zwe Jazzcafe (Vienna); Café Tasso and Not Only Jazz (Berlin); Jazzclub Unterfahrt, Jazzbar Vogler, Holzkirchner Blues-&JazzTage, Bayerisches Hof, (München), among others. There he has shared stage with prominent musicians of the European jazz scene, including: Julian Hesse, Matthieu Bordenave, Shinya Fukumori, Andreas Kurz, Peter Cudek, among many others (i.e. with the UMPA Jazz Orchestra feat. the music of Christian Elsässer).

Before moving to Germany, he performed in important events as well:

"Thelonious Connection International Jazz Fest" (Jan 2016); "XV Valdivia Jazz Fest" (Dec 2015); "5 de Mayo Fest" (Puebla - Mexico, Apr 2012); IV & V El Bosque Jazz Fest" (Jun 2008 and Nov 2009); "I Quilicura Jazz Festival" (Nov 2009); as well as lectures and workshops (UNAB, Aug 2012; UPA, Nov 2015) related to music, guitar, jazz and improvisation.

In 2013 he recorded his debut album, "Shah Mat", feat. spanish saxophonist Luis Verde. With this work he won the "Pulsar Awards 2015" for Best Jazz - Fusion Artist.

In 2016 he recorded "Sinke" and between November 2017 and May 2018, "(4M)" was recorded in München, Germany. This work will be published in 2019.

He teaches Guitar, Harmony, Improvisation and Chess.
